Congratulations to last week’s winner, Dana Misner, who correctly guessed that the Macro Monday photo was an iris! Good luck with this week’s entry! And let me know in the comments or on the Facebook page if you are enjoying this contest. Thanks for the feedback!

In case you missed the rules last week, here they are:

This will be a contest that lasts until the end of the year. I’ll post a macro (close-up) photo each Monday and the first person to guess what it the object is “wins” for that week. Some weeks may be super easy, and others may  be really hard. There are no weekly prizes, but at the end of the year I’ll collect all the weekly winner names and randomly select the 2012 Macro Monday winner from that pool. The winner will receive a photo session with me to be used in 2013. The beauty of this contest is that you choose how often you play. You can also be a weekly winner multiple times (as long as you are the first correct guess) for more chances to win. Only comments made on the blog post will count. Facebook comments will not count, but feel free to spread the word about the contest posts via Facebook. I hope you enjoy playing along!

The theme for week 16 was perspective. I took a variety of photos for the week’s theme but I ended up with this one as I felt it captured the true definition of the word. This photo is taken from the perspective of a “first-timer” – it was my baby girl’s first time feeling the fresh green grass under her bare feet. She had reservations at first, but quickly warmed up to it.

I decided to have some fun and start a new contest. This will be a contest that lasts until the end of the year. Without further ado, here is the first Macro Monday shot. Leave your guess below in the comments. Good luck!

The theme for week 15 was “movement”. I posted two photos. This first one is a pinwheel in motion. I had other ideas for the week’s theme, but my son just happened to dig this pinwheel out of the garage the other day and it was pretty breezy out…cue lightbulb in my head. Amazing what a slow shutter speed can do! I love the blur of colors and the circles that the pinwheel’s movement makes. It just makes the image so dynamic.

This second photo was kind of a bonus entry for me on a more personal level. I had to post it because the theme was just so fitting to what is going on with my little girl right now. She turned 8 months old the other day and she has not mastered crawling as of yet, but is a little mover and shaker nonetheless. She doesn’t stay still and is pretty much movement personified. This photo showcases her newest talent – the baby plank pose!
