This week’s theme was a technical one – shallow depth of field. Shooting with a shallow depth of field gives you that blurry background effect. There’s a bit more too it than my simplistic explanation, so if you’d like to read more check out what wikipedia has to say here.
Here is my little Max having his morning downward dog stretch, and daddy and little baby girl just hanging out in bed.
As always, if this inspires you to participate, please feel free to post a link to your photos on the Half-Pint Photography Facebook page.

My first session of 2012 and my first newborn session of 2012. And what a great one it was! Little N was a sweet sweet baby boy. He didn’t want to sleep all that much, but instead was perfectly content just hanging out and modeling. I love awake newborn shots, so I wasn’t complaining. Plus, look at those baby blues!
And big sister S was loads of fun! She has one of those infectious smiles and just a super fun personality. And this wasn’t the first time I photographed her. She was one of my first newborns back in 2010. You can see her here.
What an amazing way to start the new year. Happy 2012 everyone!

And can’t forget this little guy! He really wanted to model for me – even curled up on one of my blankets and posed.

Check out this adorable little guy…
Mr. R is about 6 weeks old and was so very interested in my camera. He didn’t do a whole lot of sleeping while I was visiting with him, but the eye contact he made with me and the camera was well worth it. Maybe he’s a little model in the making!

And Mr. R is lucky enough to have this fun-loving furry friend to pal around with…

We were so lucky to have a photoshoot and visit with Miss A and her mommy this morning(and her furry friend too!). It was really hot out, but Miss A was a wonderful model giving us big beautiful smiles all morning long despite the heat (and “My Favorite Model” was just happy to have the camera turned on someone else for a change!). We had so much fun together and can’t wait to have Miss A over for another photoshoot again!

It’s been a while since we’ve seen My Favorite Model and that’s because we’ve been too busy enjoying the summer. But he just got a wagon and took it for a spin with his favorite furry friend, so we had to share.
